Illinois College will also host an Agricultural Career Fair in King Fieldhouse before the Peterson Farm Brothers presentation from 4:30-6:30 p.m. It has become one of the fastest growing academic programs at Illinois College in recent history. Under Woods’ leadership, IC began offering an agribusiness majorin 2018. Woods added that this event will serve the growing interest in modern agricultural studies he has seen throughout the region. “This evening promises to be entertaining, inspirational, educational, and motivational for people of all ages and all backgrounds.” “We hope to welcome people from across the region and state to hear the Peterson Farm Brothers’ story,” Michael Woods, agribusiness coordinator and assistant professor of business. Their presentation is part of IC’s celebration of National Agriculture Month and will educate the audience about modern farming and address common misconceptions. Since their rise to fame, the Peterson Farm Brothers have earned a reputation as passionate advocates for agricultural awareness and education. Their YouTube videos about their farm family in central Kansas have received over 50 million total views, and they have amassed a large online following. Their first parody in 2012, “I’m Farming and I Grow It,” went viral with over 5 million views in hundreds of countries within two weeks. The brothers will perform several of the song parodies related to agriculture and farm life that made them internet sensations. The hour-long presentation, sponsored by GROWMARK, is free and open to the public.
